Ambrose Alliuniversity students and Gen.Charles Airhiavbere

Ambrose Alli university students and Gen.Charles Airhiavbere and Edo state owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma, yesterday, gave a seven day ultimatum to the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gen.Charles Airhiavbere, to tender apology to the students for referring to them as armed robbers.

Airhiavbere had in a televised governorship debate on AIT Thursday, said the university was breeding armed robbers while trying to emphasize that the government of  Governor Adams Oshiomhole failed to improve the plight of the university.

But reacting in a statement yesterday in Benin City, the President of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the university, Comrade John Ologie, said the comment was a great disservice to the people of the state, particularly when “ we were recently referred to as armed robbers by a man who seek to lead us as governor”.
